We believe true success comes from teamwork, a positive attitude, and consistent improvement—not just winning games.
If your primary goal is to join a highly competitive, win-at-all-costs program, this may not be the right fit. Our focus is on building a safe, fair, and supportive community where kids can develop their skills and deepen their love for the game of basketball.
Joanne leads the Vic Howlers program with a passion for the game and a commitment to player development. She has played competitive basketball since the age of 10, gaining experience through hundreds of games and tournaments over the years.
Her coaching style blends teamwork, skill-building, and—above all—fun, creating a positive and supportive environment for every player on the court.
Brad grew up as a huge basketball fan and player. He played through high school and then various men's teams in both Vancouver and Toronto leagues. Brad loves to connect with kids to not only build skills but to help them think about the game in the right way.

Arielle has been actively involved in multiple team and individual sports her whole life, but her favorite has always been basketball. She played on highly competitive provincial teams in high school and recreationally afterwards. She has continued her love for exercise and sport as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes from youth to professional and is a faculty member in Kinesiology at Camosun College. Arielle is a firm believer in the power of team sports as a positive contributor not only to youth physicality, but also to their social and cognitive development.
